Digidesign continue to push the limits of their ProTools Mix systems with the introduction of the new MIX³ (Mix Cubed). It features the MIX core and 2 MIX farm cards. The system provides support for up to 72 channels of I/O and virtually unlimited DSP power. MIX Cubed ships with the latest 5.1.1 version of ProTools software environment which adds a host of new features and countless tweaks. One of the main enhancements is the addition of surround mixing (very much the buzz at the AES). It also offers a number of enhancements to the MIDI side with enhanced code to make the most of those precious DSPs.
