Zoom has announced details of a new digital mulitrack recorder that'll fit snugly in your pocket. The company reckons the PS-02 Palmtop Studio claim it's the world's smallest digital multitrack recorder. Zoom's latest gizmo is a self-contained recording studio with two internal tracks of drums and percussion and one of bass sounds each with 256 preset patterns. The PS-02 allows for recording onto three separate audio tracks with the ability to digitally 'bounce' tracks together. Each of the audio tracks offers 10 additional virtual tracks or 'takes' to choose from. Seventeen minutes of stereo audio can be stored on a 64Mb SmartMedia card at the HiFi setting (32kHz), and Zoom's renowned multi-effects and guitar amp modelling are on board, too. And that's not all. You also get a built-in microphone, making it truly portable and self-contained. The PS-O2 will be available in September 2000. For more zoom over to http://www.zoom.co.jp
