Does anybody know how to reset the user voices? My battery is weak and the memory is corrupted which leads to swqreeekoooingbooooahk (sounds like ggggtsssoooooikengssshh) sounds!

My first real synth. Good hit for basses. Once imitated a helicopter with it, people ran away to the windows to see where it would land. Some real nice voices. Never sell. Still modern look. Good, but unf. static multitembral behavior.

I bought my YS100 just after it's release and it has served me well ever since. Yamaha provide some fine piano sounds, better tweaked a bit, but still cool. The Sax and woodwind patches on the contemporary card are superb and the velocity sensisitivity works so well on the sax patches it's hard to distinguish from the real thing! Yamaha have been great with support for their products and even sent me a replacement key FOC after a disaster with A2!

Top rate synth. never mind how it looks, eyes don't hear......

Rock on!

The YS100 is my first real synth. I have to say it looks awfull because of the used buttons and colors, but the look of it doesn't care that much. What really cares are the sounds, and they aren't all that well. The strings, the basses and the brass are pretty good, but the others are as awful as the look of the synth. So, the first thing you should do is changing the sounds!

Editing or creating sounds might be horrorable at first because the manual doesn't describe all parameters well. After trying some software like YamEdit from Blue Bear your understanding of the parameters will get better, just like the sounds you create.

To me, the YS100 is a good synth for using in my own music studio, but it took me several days to understand it good. So, take your time to explore the YS100 to get the best out of it!
