Having used both versions of Re-Birth for some time now, I can't say i understand what all of the fuss is about. Sound quality is good as are the effects and the midi control great. However, Re-Birth limits the user to only a small palette of sounds, would'nt it make more sense if it could output its patterns via midi, maybe having each pattern generator a different midi channel or even outputting as a midi file (.mid). This would allow the user to incorporate Re-Birth more easily with other sound sources external to the computer. Apart from that, an OK tool to play around with. (or Sample as I did to get 808 / 909 Kits and various TB303 samples!!)

Rebirth is cool, and opened the door for soft synths, but I am going to have to say it is a close second to Fruity loops. FL will sequence, beat stretch loops, has a soft synth that is damn close to rebirth and has extra features such as FM and PWM. And there is enogh good sample sets of XOX boxes to be ok, plus you aren't stuck using xox sounds(Iknow there are mods, but that is a pain to down load or create a mod when you can just use fruity loops)

Is that 'official' that it's "5" times better......putz.

Hey Psyche, hotmail seems to be freaking out. If you want one of the mods to work in the...ahem..."trial" version, then youneed a mod that's been altered to work within the 'trial' realm, there's tons of them out there.

I suggest you get the Hotline client and go searching. Somebody I know (wink) found about 12 "special" mods out there that are up and working fine with the trial.

I wonder if with the mods installed AudioMulch would become only '4' times better than Rebirth :)
