This card is terrible. I have both a Live! and an Audigy. I've finally learned, no more Creative Labs cards for me.

The output on these cards is reasonable, but the line in quality is awful. There is a very noticeable hiss and DC offset problems.

Now onto the Soundfont engine. This engine is ok, but it is so outdated. I've never been able to find a good bank for these cards and I cannot seem to create a good bank. If you want good audio, get a M-Audio Revolution, A terratec, or even a CS42xx based card.

I bought the SB live! Platinum card and Live Drive II when it it was first released a few years ago, i have had no problems at all, the 3D sound is seccond to none for gaming, and the midi synth works great with CuBase VST for very creative backing tracks, i bought it basicaly just for the Live! Drive II which fits into a 5 1/4 inch bay and boasts an impressive array of functions (A midi in and a midi out port, line/mic in, phones, optical in/out ports, SPDIF in and out and Auxillary in/out ports, with seccondary input fader controls for mic/phones)

This card has proven to be everything i need, jus short of a personnal recording studio.
