Thomas R Kolb writes:
The Proteus 3 is a slick sample playback module, loaded with a great selection of 16-bit ethnic instrument samples from around the world. You'll find shofars, ney flutes, celtic harps, tablas, tamburas, banjos, didjeridoos and bagpipes - you get the point. You probably could use a good sampler with a decent CD-library to achieve the same thing - but with the Proteus 3, you have instant access to more than 200 ethnic samples, all carefully recorded, looped and trimmed, nicely wrapped up in a neat and hygienic package. The Serengeti Plains or the Highlands, the Rain Forest or Camelot - the choice is yours.
