Korg’s new yellow beastie is taken from the same mold as the miniKP and looks a perfect partner when mounted side-by-side. A pretty hot item, the Kaossillator has generated a lot of interest. It's a dynamic phrase generator. Questions like, what exactly does it do? What does is sound like? Have been raised on a multitude of forums and blogs. Well, thanks to an ingenious battery powered amp, a sort of wooden mortar board arrangement and an enthusiastic demonstrator in Ian Bradshaw, these questions can now be answered. We found a quiet(ish) spot at the recent Music Live! Show at Birmingham NEC to get up close and personal with this rare beast. Currently en-route from the factory, the Kaossillator is set to hit the stores in time for Christmas and retail for somwhere around £100 – the MRRP is £117.49
