Nick met with Alessandro Mastroianni from Krotos to explore Krotos Studio which is designed to help users create sound effects quickly and efficiently. It has a built-in buffer which records everything the user does, and they can stop it at any time to create a draggable wave file. Krotos Studio can create a variety of effects, such as cinematic sound effects, giant trailer hits, atmospheres, and scene risers. It can also be used to create sounds such as footsteps, where users can choose the footwear and surface they want. Krotos Studio is compatible with most video editing software such as Premiere, Final Cut, and DaVinci Resolve. Krotos Studio is free to use, with an add-on called Genesis priced at $29 as a one-off purchase.
While there is no implementation of AI technology in this version of Krotos Studio, the company is developing it for the future. It will allow users to have infinite sound variations for their foley work.
