We always like to see Sony at the shows, coz they always have desirable gear for us to lust after, and this show is no exception. We got up close and personal with a couple of new products, the new MZM-200 Minidisc recorder and a new pair of Hi Def headphones. The MZM-200 takes off where the MZM-100 leaves off – indeed it will have the same list price once it has been released in August. The new features include USB 2.0 connectivity for up to 4x faster data transfer, backwards compatibility with the original Minidisc record format (if you choose to record in that mode). You can also charge the battery using USB (no external PSU needed). The MZM series feature the new HiMD recording and can hold 1GB of data/audio. You can also now record native MP3 as well as Sony’s own ATRAC format. The MZM-200 ships in August 2006 at $439 I’m afraid I cant supply a link coz I found the Sony site rather impenetrable – never mind eh..
