Welcome to our series focussed on using Ableton's Live software for live performance. As you may know many people use it as the basis to live performing in many ways. This series is designed to give you some ideas and pointers in the many ways it is possible to incorporate it into your own live setup.

In this episode we look at preparing for disaster, no matter how well you know your setup, there's always a chance that something will go wrong. It's a good idea to plan for this eventuality. We take a look at the options and offer several useful ideas.

Your guide through this is Tom Lonsborough - he's a member of the live act 2 Billion Beats and also an Ableton Certified Trainer working out of the Manchester MIDI school, a very knowledgeable guy when it comes to working with Ableton Live.

When performing with the trio 2 Billion Beats, Tom uses live to allow him to combine live electronic instruments, (Moog Minitaur, Dave Smith Tetra 4, Vermona DRM MKII, AcidLab Bombass) with Lives flexible in-the-box capabilities for certain elements, live input processing and automation.
