They teased us with a blurry photo a couple of days ago but now Elektron has announced Digitakt, an eight track digital drum machine and sampler. They say that the rich feature set, the powerful digital sound engine, the compact size and the all new back-lit buttons and super crisp OLED screen make it a portable and focused instrument for producers and live musicians, while eight dedicated MIDI tracks, all featuring legendary Elektron sequencer tricks, elevate Digitakt to a capable control hub.

Jonas Hillman, CEO of Elektron, told us, "Digitakt is a direct result of our passion for drum machines. Its small size and extraordinary sound engine provide unmatched power per square inch. We are very proud of our drum machine legacy and Digitakt is a magnificent continuation of it."
