BPM Show Monday, we popped up to take a look at the new Roland gear today, and got there a little before show opened. On the Roland booth we spotted the new AIRA System 8.
Nick had a quick look and play, before anyone was around. First impressions are impressive, sounds good - at least on the headphones provided, lots of low end warmth, and also very pleased to see the Upper/Lower split/layer - which effectively gives you two complete 4 voice synths, each with its own arpeggiator or sequencer (we think) plus each has its own effects section, they are not global when in split mode.
We hope to get our hands on one as soon as possible, but one thing we did hear, though not officially, is that its going to be around 1499 Euros RRP, so that should translate to somewhere in the area of £1100-1199 - though again this is not official.
