Amped Bitesize Review: Boss DD-3 Digital Delay

Stripped back delay from Boss gets our bitesize treatment   04-Mar-13

We are reviewing a Boss pedal every day for a month in March, and today, on day four, it's the turn of the stripped back digital delay unit, the Boss DD-3 pedal.

We're looking at 30 pedals this month, and then on the final day of March, we'll be doing a round up of our favourites. The idea being that you can quickly watch our bitesize reviews and make a quick decision on whether you like what you hear for each of Boss' compact pedals.

Boss are the undisputed champs of compact digital delay pedals, and the DD-3 is the stripped back unit, the younger brother of the DD-7.

But what does Rich have to say about the Boss DD-3 Digital Delay?

Rich's Verdict - "If you often go to gigs or festivals, then the chances are that you've heard the DD-3 in action plenty of times. That white compact Boss unit is unmistakable, and there's a reason for that. It's affordable, reliable, it's a true workhorse of a delay pedal. If you're a fan of tape delay and analog delay, then it might not be the sound you're after. But the DD-3 is pretty much an industry standard for guitarists on the road, if you're looking for that simple, easy to use delay pedal, you'll be hard pressed to find better."

RRP - £140
