this is not a synthesizer , but software that needs a host computer. Would sonic state consider being clearer as what they describe as a synth?

It says for Mac or Windows in the title. You want someone to come to your house and scream it in your face? Would that spell it out enough for you?

By that logic a VA-synth is merely a software that needs a host-DSP.. Some people overcomplicate stuff..

I love all this software shite being called synthesizers. It is comical ,specialy the rendered pics. Is it ten year olds who dream this shit up as credible 'instruments' .Love the rack concept also? Rack software ,there was someone trying to sell rack ears for softsynths.

On behalf of devils advocates everywhere! Flacidware, sounds like you should know a lot about soft-synths. Your head likely has ears, but no electronics to speak of, and yet you synthesize ideas like everyone else. Perhaps Flacidware is a softsynth disguised as a grumpy old commentator.

The real problem that I have with this synthesizer isn't whether it is one. I can say with some authority that it is, in fact, a synthesizer. However, I'm not hearing anything revolutionary in the demo that has been put onto YouTube and that we hear in this video. The other problem that I have is what I always have with marketing: It is marketing. Calling something a "revolutionary synth" doesn't make it so. Not even saying that it is "evolved FM" is making it so. If they released a bunch of specs, released some demos on SoundCloud, and let us judge for ourselves -- well -- I guess that this might be treating us like the intelligent beings who we are. Then again, they might not make as much money.
