Make 3 Types of Reese Bass

US Forge the holy trinity of DnB low end      12/08/24

Bthelick is back with another underround inspired tutorial video, this time looknig at the 3 types of Reece Bass - most commonly used in Drum & Bass. He shows the process of making the bass sound, which is based around having an interference pattern between two separate sound sources, giving a moving and beating sound.

You can read the story on what the Reese Bass is here: https://flypaper.soundfly.com/produce/history-of-the-reese-bass-synth-sound/

The Reese Bass isn't just a common preset one might see on a synthesizer, or something you've heard musicians talk about -- it's actually named after revolutionary DJ/producer Kevin Saunderson's early side-project moniker, Reese. In 1988, Saunderson dropped a dark, groovy dancefloor single called "Just Want Another Chance," featuring a massive, warbly, chorused bass synth (beginning here at 0:16).
