If we're talking Techno you can't go wrong with a minimal and focused setup - and here we have a great example of that from Mr Mylar Melodies. Using just the Moog Labyrinth & Plaits/Braids he demonstrates splitting the signal path in such a way as to give you multiple melodic options, textures, and timbres to play with - which wouldn't be immediately accessible without some crucial devices. It's a cool idea well executed, here's more:
Here's a little test of how pairing a Labyrinth with a complex digital oscillator (eg Plaits and/or Braids), plus some drums, plus some FX, could be enough to play live with. I also make use of crossfaders to queue up something 'in reserve', to then move to, to keep things evolving.
