Midi-2-the-Max has released M2TM Fugue Maker, a MIDI generator for Ableton Live 12. Here's the details in their own words...

M2TM Fugue Maker starts from a seed melody that you provide in a clip and generates up to 5 voices (in different tracks) of that melody, by applying transformation rules such as retrograde motion, interval transposition and inversion, varyimng speed, playhead offset, note velocity variations, staccato/legato effects, rhythm syncopations, and more. Basically, it create perfect contrupuntal lines even if you know nothing about music.

M2TM Fugue Maker can create chords from monophonic seed melodies, select the best chord inversion, and merge notes in common between consecutive chords. It can process up to 12 seed melodies at once and generate 60 clips at once!

As its name suggests, M2TM Fugue Maker is inspired by the fugue composition form - think of J.S.Bach - however the transformation techniques it is based on can be applied to any music genre, including modern electronic music, minimalist compositions in the style of Philip Glass or Steve Reich, ambient music à-la Brian Eno, and many more.
