A friend of mine makes cymbals, gongs and many other metal percussion instruments (shout out to Matt Nolan Custom) so he's plugged in to the wonderful and occasionally weird world of, well... percussion based music.
Which is how he came upon this video of an incredible musician Aurélien Gignoux playing a piece by composer Théo Mérigeau called "Tambour de Pan" (Pan's Drum)
The Greek god Pan was famous for playing the flute - so the title is a nod to the homemade 'flutes' crafted from plastic electrical conduit that Aurélien is playing by stomping on a pair of camping pumps. Giftedly.
It's an amazing piece of work - the inventiveness of the homemade instruments (there's a couple of gravity/water bottle based flutes too), their combination with a range of other instruments, the piece itself, and the sheer technical mastery of the player, all combine to make a little bit of magic in a crazy world.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
