At Superbooth 2024 we met with Chris from Moog who gave us a look at their new Spectravox. Originating from the Moogfest workshop in 2019, Spectravox is a semi-modular analog spectral processor and vocoder that offers dynamic sound sculpting capabilities through its 10-band filter bank, based on the Moog 907 filterbank from the 60s, adjustable resonance, and extensive integration features. It's a tool for creating lively drones and colorful tonal sweeps, and can be used as a standalone unit or integrated with other instruments and sound sources.
Watch to the end of the video for a surprise appearance from Jamie Lidell, who has had his hands on a Spectravox for quite a while, and he tells us about his experiences with this box of tricks.
