Moogseum To Present Livestreamed Evening

As part of its celebration of Bob Moog's birthday, the Bob Moog Foundation will be presenting An Evening with Patrick Gleeson, streamed live from the Moogseum in Asheville, North Carolina on May 23, 2023 from 7-9pm EDT (4-6pm PDT, 11pm-1am UTC). Here's the details that they have supplied...

Dr. Gleeson, the original owner of the vintage Moog Modular synthesizer now on exhibit in the Moogseum, will demonstrate the instrument and discuss his work on the soundtrack to the legendary film "Apocalypse Now." Following his demonstration will be an in-depth chat with Bob Moog Foundation Executive Director Michelle Moog-Koussa, delving into his reflections on his life in synthesis, the Moog legacy, and his work in producing and recording music, touring and performing, and scoring for film and television. Gleeson will wrap the evening with a live DJ set.

Dr. Patrick Gleeson's work in recording and synthesis dates back to the 1960s, with the founding of the renowned Different Fur Studios in San Francisco. He is widely known for his work touring and recording with Herbie Hancock, as well as collaborations with Brian Eno, David Byrne, Devo, and many more. His Moog Modular was passed down to musician/composer Don Preston, who used it on recordings and live with Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention, and eventually to synthesist Walter Holland, who recently sold it to the Moogseum.

In-person tickets for the evening's event are sold out, but tickets for the livestream are available online for $10. Please visit liveatmoogseum.org for more information and to purchase your ticket to this one-of-a-kind event
