The SP-404 is a machine that has a loyal following, for many its been an alternative to the MPC.
Its small form factor, sample playback, triggering and FX made it a go to for performance. Roland just released the SP-404 MKII which is good news, but also they released a major update V2.0 OS in July of this year, which really opens up the machine for more sequencing duties.

Highlights include: TR style step recording, chromatic note programming per step, chromatic mode now has legato and poly too.
