NAMM 22: Fluid Audio Announces Image 2 Studio Monitor

Fluid Audio has announced the release of its new Fluid Image 2 studio monitor, which they say offers best in class studio monitoring at an attractive price. This is what they have to say about it...

Fluid Audio Image 2

The Image 2 is dedicated to near-field and midfield use. Using the latest in DSP development and Class-D amplification Fluid Audio  have pushed the limits of a studio monitor to achieve stunning results. The Image 2 delivers incredible imaging, frequency response, output, low distortion, and depth of field. With its unique look, compact size and performance that is hard to believe.

Fluid Audio Image 2 - 2 Monitors In One

The Image 2 is a 2 in 1 monitor; a full range mixing and mastering system that also offers a mixcube mode. Mixcube mode helps dial in low end and mids for a wide range of "bass challenged" devices. It also helps adjust the overall balance, depth, vocals, and nail the kick drum.

Packed Full Of New Technology

USB port add further functionality to the Image 2's incredible sonic features extending the ability to accurately process source material via onboard room correction in the future. In addition, our newly developed AMT tweeter delivers precise transient response and high details free of distortion.

Fluid Audio Image 2 - In Depth

Our in-house custom aluminium cone mid-range driver utilize shorting rings, substantially reducing the harmonic and intermodulation distortion associated with voice coil displacement. It also reduces the modulation of magnetic flux during the movement of the voice coil to make the variation of system inductances more linear as input current varies. The end result is an accuracy so clean mixing takes on a whole new flow.

Dual 8" Opposed ultra-long-throw interlocked bass woofers add improved cabinet stability and provide extended bandwidth, 28 Hz – 30 kHz (+/-6 dB) 80/20kHz (+/-2db).

Each bass driver is individually powered by the latest state of the art 225W Class-D amplifier.

And driving this system is our newly developed Class-D amplifier with very low distortion, ample headroom, lower output noise, improved THD+N performance, improved IMD performance, and lower output impedance. Utilizing a closed cabinet provides a natural roll off, lack of "bass humps", and less likelihood of unwanted frequency interaction with the room which means these monitors are less sensitive to positioning.

All of this together makes mixing and mastering on the Image 2 a more accurate and enjoyable experience than ever before.
