Creating Your Own Custom Wavetables

Wavetables are a common way of creating base tones on a synthesizer - we recently shared 3000 wavetables for the SQ80-V, converted from another SQ80 emulating softsynth. In this video, Cuckoo embarks on a voyage to make his own with some splendid results! Using Plogue's Chipsynth MD to create his fragmented tones, he goes through each step of creating wavetables - testing them in Xfer's Serum before loading them into some hardware synths.

He loads the resulting sounding into an Arturia Microfreak and a Korg Wavestate with some excellent results - any fellow Megadrive (Genesis in the US) fans will surely approve. While it might take longer than loading some pre-made waves; it's a fine way to dig a bit deeper and find a sound which is crafted to your own personal taste.
