Long Forgotten Audio Formats

US Techmoan investigates DCC & Elcaset      22/08/21

We're huge fans of Techmoan, a Brit who looks at obsolete and obscure tech from the past. In this video, he looks at some forgotten audio formats, Phillips DCC and Elcaset - going over their use, quality and some of their quirks. Like many people, I still have a stack of MiniDiscs packed with recordings and no player! In reference to the video Techmoan says:

Over the last year or so I've been assembling an esoteric HiFi system featuring a mix of both old and new components. The equipment I've bought has little to do with convenience, value for money or performance, in fact, most of the items have been selected purely for their curiosity value.

In addition to the video, he's written a blog post on the formats and his subsequent video: http://www.techmoan.com/blog/2014/5/6/fun-with-forgotten-audio-formats-dcc-elcaset.html
