Sound Magic has announced availability of FusionX, its latest hybrid modelling virtual instrument for Mac (AU 32-/64-bit, VST 32-/64-bit) and Windows (VST 32-/64-bit), which they say features a new type Bass instrument. Here's the story in their own words...
FusionX is a new type of Bass instrument. It is not a sample of a model of bass, but a combination of several extraordinary bass models including Fender Jazz Fretless, Gibson EB2 and Rickenbacker. You can select different bass for each technique and this gives musicians more freedom on the sound.
To accurately represent the legendary bass sound, FusionX is deeply sampled over 21GB uncompressed contents, over 23,000 samples with multi velocity layers and round robin samples. Also we choose to record bass in the famous Eastwood Scoring Stage as they have a large collection of classic amps and cabs to choose from. It costs us months to have the best combination of amps and cabs.
The most important feature of FusionX is that for each technique, we recorded all 3 basses and picked the best sounding one as the main sample set. Then choose another different style of sound as the backup sample sets. In this way, we can ensure the best sound while keeping the freedom of choosing sound for our musicians.
Collaborate with Hotone; now we can offer the full version of VStomp effect system on FusionX. VStomp is based on Hotone's proprietary CDCM system, VStomp delivers organic, studio-grade sound quality and the exact character of legendary amplifiers. Unlike mainstream modeling methods based on the characteristics of a certain "state" of the circuitry, which just "comes close" to the modeled sound, VStomp employs a complex system based on dynamic feature modeling. In this matrix, every single circuit component is alive and performs like its original.
VStomp has over 26 amps and 20 cabs waiting for you to use. The famous brands in VStomp including Marshall, Fender, Ampeg, Carvin, Mesa, Peavey, Roland, Orange and many more. Also it has multi effect/FX which could enables users to fudge a whole FX chain to get the unique sound.
