Austrian Audio says that building on the popularity of their Hi-X55, the new Hi-X65 professional headphones bring craftsmanship from Vienna to the next level. They believe that, designed as professional monitoring headphones for mixing and mastering, the open over-ear design and the high excursion driver ensure absolutely transparent sound to delight sound engineers and audiophiles alike. Hi-X Technology: Innovation Built On Tradition
The development of the Hi-X (High Excursion) technology results from decades of experience and today's state-of-the-art technologies, and it's the key to the astonishingly detailed sound of the Hi-X65 headphones. All Austrian Audio Hi-X headphones feature a 44 mm driver and a ring magnet system. This design allows for improved airflow and includes the strongest magnetic field in its class. The ring magnet, combined with a copper-clad aluminum voice coil, reduces the weight of the membrane and the voice coil connected to it, allowing the membrane to move or change direction faster, providing a more responsive impulse reaction. The result is great bass imaging and superior low THD at low frequencies, a linear frequency response, and open, precise, high-resolution sound that simplifies error detection and makes mixing and mastering a pleasure.

Exceptional Comfort and Optimal Fit
In addition to the large, open and detailed sound, the new Hi-X65 also provide the highest level of comfort. The ear pads are made of soft memory foam and have been completely redesigned to provide more space for the ears without increasing the external dimensions.

The breathable construction ensures excellent ventilation, while supporting the acoustic design. The soft memory foam padding of the headband has a clever recess for the head seam and thus significantly reduces the contact pressure. The remarkable comfort and optimal fit allow work on time-consuming audio projects without experiencing any fatigue.

Durability
All moving and load-bearing components are made of metal for maximum load capacity. The Hi-X65 has a very sturdy folding construction and comes with a carrying bag. Additionally, the headphones allow to work with a large number of feeders: Thanks to the impedance of 25 ohms, the greatest possible power and headroom are always available, no matter if the sound source originates from high-end headphone amplifiers, reference AD converters, analog mixers, mobile players or notebooks.

The headband and ear pads, i.e. all hygienic components, can be easily exchanged and replaced, ensuring that precision, listening pleasure and comfort remain the same over time.

Connectivity
Whether studio session or HiFi enjoyment, the Hi-X65 adapts to any situation. The included exchangeable cables of 1.2 m and 3 m length (4 and 9 feet) are tailored to the technical data and subtleties of the headphones. They connect with the headphones with a secure locking mechanism. The standard 3.5 mm stereo jack plug ensures the highest possible consumer compatibility, and an adapter to a ¼" stereo jack is included for professional connections.
