Future 1000 Programme Aims To Diversify Electronic Music

US Open to UK students 12-18 who identify as female, trans or non-binary 08/05/21

BBC Radio 1's DJ and Presenter Jaguar has started an initiative to help 1000 female, trans and non-binary students into electronic music by 2022. Applicants must be enrolled by their music teacher in order to verify that they are a student. Teachers can enroll up to two of their school students who are eligible.

Students who are enrolled receive:

12-part video course on DJ-ing, music production, radio presenting and mentorship, hosted by Jaguar
Opportunity to take part in nine live virtual events hosted by Jaguar and special guests, hosted throughout 2021
1-year license of Soundtrap (the cloud-based audio and music production software)
Supportive community network of key industry figures and artists

The first 100 eligible schools who have students signed up will receive, at no cost, a long-term loan of the Pioneer DJ DDJ-200 controller, FutureDJs 'How to DJ' book and a three-month Soundtrap license for the music department.
