120 Instruments For u-he Zebra2

US Zebra Elementals: ISLA soundset is based around the ideas of water and fluidity      26/03/21

Jan Morgenstern, a composer and sound designer from Germany has released Zebra Elementals: ISLA, a soundset of 120 instruments for u-he Zebra2 that are based around the ideas of water and fluidity. ISLA is the debut product of his newly established soundware label, Treeswift Audio. Here's the details in his own words...

The overarching theme of the collection centers around water and other fluids in all forms. In addition to shimmering pad and ambience sounds, mercurial leads and sequenced patches reminiscent of waterfalls, the soundset boasts a selection of realistic simulations of waves, currents, rain and drips. These play to the unique strengths of Zebra2's powerful, half-modular synthesis structure, resulting in sounds that can be shaped and modified in real time much more flexibly than would be the case with sample-based instruments. The water motif also inspired the collection in a more abstract sense: One of the development goals was to imbue the instruments with the kind of qualities that musicians and composers tend to describe as "fluid", both in their sound and in the way they respond to the player's performance.

Referring to a songbird indigenous to Southeast Asia and India, the name Treeswift Audio signifies the philosophy of creating sounds of synthetic origin that exhibit strong organic and "living" qualities. Following the lead of Zebra Elementals: ISLA, the label aims to keep offering creative and extraordinary sounds for film/TV, game, pop and electronica composers apart from the market for production-ready Hollywood or EDM presets.
