One year since the launch of its Podcast Pro microphone, British microphone brand Sontronics has announced five new colours of the mic as well as the availability of two new products: the XLR-USB premium-quality cable and ELEVATE desktop stand. Here's their press release with the full details...

Since the launch of the Podcast Pro at NAMM 2020, it became a runaway success, picking up multiple awards, gaining famous users and winning shootout after shootout.

In a week that sees the 10,000th Podcast Pro being made in Sontronics' south coast-based HQ, five new colours are being introduced: cosmic grey, purple, blue, green and gold. Like the original red and black mics, the new colours are available immediately at £99 inc. VAT.

The new colours were originally made as one-offs for an in-house project, as Sontronics' founder Trevor Coley admits: "After the stresses of 2020, we thought it would be fun to create some different-coloured Podcast Pros to share on our social media pages to cheer people up in the New Year. However, within a day of posting, the new colours had created such a huge buzz and we were receiving so many order requests that we realised we had to put them into production straight away!"

At the same time as launching the new colours, Sontronics has confirmed the availability of two new accessories that complement the Podcast Pro perfectly: XLR-USB and Elevate.

The XLR-USB cable was developed after Sontronics' R&D team realised that nothing on the market could give users reliable, professional results as well as plug-and-play usability, so they set about creating their own. The result is a premium-quality cable that plugs into any computer (or even iOS devices via a separate adaptor) and combines super-low latency with high-quality A/D conversion and a clean, interference-free signal.

At only £19.99 inc. VAT, Sontronics XLR-USB makes the perfect accessory for Podcast Pro or any dynamic microphone.

Sontronics has also confirmed the release of its ELEVATE microphone stand, an elegant, multi-positional arm mount that will support any mic up to 1kg. It can be clamped to the edge of a desk or permanently fixed to a work surface with the supplied accessories. The angled joints allow you to position your mic wherever you need it, while the channels and clips along each arm keep cables neat and tidy.

ELEVATE costs just £95 inc. VAT and is a must-have for any pro studio, radio station, voiceover artists or home musician as well as podcasting, gaming and Zoom call set-ups.
