Bob Clearmountain is as close to music royalty as you can get, he's worked as a recording engineer, mixer and producer with a huge list of the biggest names - his Wikipedia page reads like a Who's Who of contemporary popular music.

And funnily enough, he's also a bass-player, having played on The Dead Boys' first album. Seems Gaz has an infallible bass radar.
