MAXIMALSOUND, an online algorithmic mastering service, tells us that they are now offering an online pre-mastering service for vinyl production. Here's the details in their own words...

For 10 years, MAXIMALSOUND offers an online audio optimization service for digital distribution. The ancient art of vinyl production can now benefit from a dedicated online service.

The type of files returned will depend on the DIGITAL or VINYL option selected before sending.

When the sound has been transferred for digital release by choosing the DIGITAL option on upload, the files returned are:

- An HD file is generated at 96 KHz 24 bits.
- A CD file is generated at 44.1 KHz 16 bits.
- A SAME file (identical) is generated within the limit of 96 KHz 32 bits float.
- A 320 kbps MP3 file is generated for sharing.

When the sound has been transferred for a final vinyl production by choosing the VINYL option on send, the output files

- A VINYL file is generated at 44.1 KHz 24 bits for the cutting engineer.
- A 320 kbps MP3 file is generated for sharing.

The master files remain available 240 hours (10 days) for listening to the test, downloading the free sample, and purchasing through PayPal, or using minutes acquired from a VIP account

Prices are set by the minute.
Without a VIP subscription, vinyl pre-mastering is billed at € 2.99 per minute.
Mastering for digital production is billed at € 1.99 per minute.

The three VIP subscriptions allow you to acquire processing minutes at a reduced price that can be used for both digital or vinyl productions for a period of one year.
The purchase of new minutes extends the availability of the remaining minutes by one year.

Finally, it is now possible to listen to an mp3 version of the test sample directly from the site. The possibility of downloading the sample in native definition has been retained in order to allow listening in optimal conditions.
