International Electronic Music Competition


Shanghai Computer Music Association (SCMA) and China Musical Instrument Association (CMIA) has announced 2020 the 2nd International Electronic Music Competition (IEMC). They say that the competition will provide a series of artistic performance and technical exchange events, which focus on the leading technology research and development of music industry and art creation.

A spokesperson told  us, "The competition aims to further promote the development of digital music technology, to present the current artistic cultural style and the technological innovation of Shanghai, the international metropolis, to stand at the forefront of the industry and lead the direction of electronic music and new music technology."

Here are the submission categories...

A. Song Writing and Production

  • MIDI or audio technology is required.
  • No limit of the style.
  • No limit of the production methods.
  • The duration should be between 2-6 min.

 

B. Electronic Music Production

  • MIDI or audio technology is required.
  • No limit of the style.
  • No limit of the production methods.
  • The duration should be between 3-8 min.

 

C. "New Instrument" Creative Design

  • Audible and playable original electronic musical "instrument", combine with MIDI tech, computer programming and other technology.
