Korg Volca Drum Samples Aid Racial Justice

US 10 dollars for the sample pack goes to Emancipate NC, a North Carolina charity      10/06/20

Joey of Wavparty has been in touch to tell us that he's put out a huge new sample pack of sounds from the Korg Volca Drum.

Joey had this to say, "It's $10 and every cent of that goes to Emancipate NC, a nonprofit fighting for racial justice in my home state of North Carolina. I would absolutely love to get some more eyes on this. I'm just a guy who makes goofy drum beats but it has been so cool to see people contribute. We've raised $300 in just over 24 hours."

Here's details of the pack direct from Wavparty...

Korg's Volca Drum is a drum synthesis powerhouse in a quirky little package. It features six identical drum voices, each with 2 layers of sound generation that can be modulated, run through a wavefolder, overdrive, and a bitcrusher, and then into a shared resonator engine. All of this can be programmed from a standard Volca step sequencer with motion sequencing and some unique percussion tricks up its sleeve.

Twiddle those knobs and you can dial in impossibly deep kicks, cracking snares, church bells, disco toms, classic claps, metallic plinks and plonks, and all kinds of alien bleeps and bloops.

This sample pack includes:

  • 40 drum loops
  • 38 snares
  • 35 melodic sounds (tuned to C)
  • 30 kick dums (14 of them tuned to C)
  • 30 hi-hats
  • 22 percussion sounds
  • 10 cymbals
  • All the samples and loops are straight from the Volca Drum with no other processing.

Audio files are included in two different formats:

  • 24 bit, 48kHz WAV
  • 16 bit, 44.1kHz WAV
