Superbooth has been officially canceled due to Corona Virus. Like many of you, we were looking forward to Berlin - it's our favourite show. We've been expecting some news, therefore it's not surprising considering the speed at which measures are being taken, the banning of events in Germany of more than 1000 people, and the fact the US visitors would potentially be unable to travel if the mainland Europe to USA travel ban is extended past the initial 30 days.
Its' an impossible situation for any event organiser to be in, only today many UK sporting events have been canceled and this is despite contrary government advice (at the time of writing).
The official statement:
Due to the current health situation and the worldwide development of the Coronavirus there will be no SuperBooth event in 2020. All Ticketholders can give their already purchased tickets back for a full refund.
We really feel for Herr Schneider and the team, they work so hard to make one of the most enjoyable and unique shows in the calendar. I'm sure next year will be even bigger and better.
Sonicstate has always covered Superbooth and we will continue to do our best, despite the lack of a physical show this year, we are therefore suggesting an online focal point to coincide with the gap in the calendar.
The aim is to provide a showcase for the people who have worked so hard to bring us their new creations - to help them still present their works to the world.
Of course it's not the same, nor is it intended to be - nothing can replace meeting people (and beer) for real and 'being there' - but right now it's the best we can make of a crappy situation.
We aim to:
Post Video content around the same dates
Shoot virtual booth visits and product presentations, interviews etc
Bring you Sonic-TALK format discussions surrounding the product releases
Stay tuned for more information and if you were planning showing at Superbooth, please get in touch.
