Two New iConnectivity MIDI interfaces

iConnectivity has introduced mioXM and mioXL, the latest additions to their assortment of MIDI problem solvers and interfaces.

A spokesperson told us, “The new mioX series interfaces expand upon on the renowned flexibility and reliability of their iConnectivity predecessors. Building upon those foundations, mioXM and mioXL provide new possibilities with the addition of several key new features.”

Here’s the details direct from iConnectivity...

mioXL

mioXL is the new flagship of iConnectivity’s range of MIDI interfaces. Taking the form of a 1U rackmount unit, mioXL features vast DIN-MIDI, USB-MIDI, and Network/RTP-MIDI connectivity, making it an ideal choice for studio installations or MIDI intensive live rigs.

Newly updated RTP/Network-MIDI architecture debuts with the release of the mioXL. 22 virtual network ports, allow the user to assign an RTP/Network-MIDI port for each connected peripheral and/or computing device, and access it from virtually anywhere.

New with mioXL is the ability to store and recall up to 32 user-definable presets directly from the hardware. For users who perform without computers and users who have MIDI setups requiring rapid routing changes, mioXL’s onboard presets will be a revelation in workflow. Changes, whether small or large, drastic or simple, become easy and hassle-free. mioXL makes the user the master of their own MIDI domain.

mioXL’s front panel features a bright and clear OLED display and a combination push-button/rotary encoder, bringing ease to monitoring MIDI traffic and navigating through onboard presets. Users can quickly see what's happening in their MIDI setup, without having to open a software application on a computer.

Expanding on iConnectivity’s USB-MIDI host technology, mioXL features 10xUSB-MIDI Host Ports allowing users to connect all of their Class-Compliant USB-MIDI peripherals without hubs or adaptors.

mioXL enables the user to move MIDI between any devices connected to mioXL’s ports. Whether that’s DIN-MIDI, USB-MIDI, USB connected computing devices, or devices connected via the network, all can be interconnected and routed as the user sees fit.

mioXL is ideal for anyone working with lots of MIDI peripherals, multiple computers (Mac, PC, iOS), or even computer-less rigs.

mioXL features at a glance:

  • 8-in x 12-out 5-pin DIN-MIDI ports
  • 10x USB-MIDI Host ports support multiple USB-MIDI Class-Compliant devices
  • RTP/Network-MIDI Ethernet port - 22 virtual network ports can easily be assigned to onboard DIN and USB ports as well as any other connected computing devices.
  • Connect multiple computers via expandable virtual network ports
  • USB Computer port supporting Mac & Windows connectivity
  • Plug and Play - no drivers required thanks to class compliant connectivity
  • OLED display with push-button rotary encoder for preset save/recall and real-time data display
  • iConnectivity’s Auracle for X-Series™ configuration software (downloadable for Mac & Windows) makes it simple to create and save filtering/routing/merging presets
  • Connect iOS devices via Wi-Fi (using wireless Ethernet adaptor) or wired ethernet connections

mioXM

mioXM takes the fundamental architecture of the flagship mioXL and places it within a compact, half unit space enclosure.

Like its big brother, the mioXL,  mioXM has unprecedented RTP/Network-MIDI connectivity. mioXM's 12 virtual network ports allow the user to assign an RTP/Network-MIDI port for each connected peripheral and/or computing device, and access them from virtually anywhere.

4 user-definable presets can be saved to the mioXM and recalled from the capacitive touch panel on the front of the interface. These enable users to quickly toggle between their configurations with a single tap. Ideal for moderate-sized MIDI setups operating without a computer or any systems that require switching between multiple configurations on-the-fly.

Expanding on iConnectivity’s USB-MIDI host technology, mioXM features 4xUSB-MIDI Host Ports (8 virtual USB-MIDI host ports in total) allowing users to connect all of their class-compliant USB-MIDI peripherals.

mioXM enables the user to send and receive MIDI between any devices connected to mioXM’s ports. Whether that’s DIN-MIDI, USB-MIDI, USB connected computing devices, or devices connected via the network, all can be interconnected and routed as the user sees fit.

mioXM is an ideal choice for compact, portable MIDI applications, or multiple placements throughout a studio, stage, and/or venue.

mioXM Features:

  • 4-in x 4-out 5-pin DIN-MIDI ports
  • 4x USB-MIDI Host ports support multiple USB-MIDI Class Compliant devices
  • Ethernet RTP/Network-MIDI Ethernet port - 12 virtual network ports can easily be assigned to onboard DIN and USB ports as well as any other connected computing devices. These make all MIDI devices accessible to Mac, PC, and mobile computing devices via a single cable or even via Wi-Fi (via Wi-FI Ethernet Router)
  • Connect multiple computers via expandable virtual network ports
  • USB Computer port supporting Mac & Windows connectivity
  • Plug and Play - no drivers required thanks to class compliant connectivity
  • Capacitive touch control panel
  • Up to four user-definable presets can be stored and recalled from mioXM’s control panel
  • iConnectivity’s Auracle for X-Series™ configuration software (downloadable for Mac & Windows) makes it simple to configure and edit the device and its presets
  • Connect iOS devices via Wi-Fi (using 3rd party Wi-Fi hardware) or wired Ethernet connections
