Yamaha YM2612 FM Synth Emulated

US Inphonik's RYM2612 revisits Sega Genesis/Megadrive 16-bit game console sounds      06/08/19

Inphonik has been in touch to tell us that, as the Sega Megadrive/Genesis celebrate its 30th anniversary, they are releasing the VST/AU/AAX versions of their RYM2612 Iconic FM Synthesizer, which they describe as a faithful, cycle-accurate emulation of the Yamaha YM2612, best known for being the sound chip of the classic 16bit video game console.

Previously available as a Rack Extension only, the new version adds support for VST2, VST3, Audio Unit, and AAX plug-in formats, for Windows and macOS.

RYM2612 features :

  • a cycle-accurate emulation of its hardware counterpart, that makes it able to faithfully reproduce even the most unpredictable sound
  • an audio output rendering that’s faithful to the Sega Genesis console’s, alot warmer than most existing emulations
  • a straight-forward user interface that allows to quickly explore every feature of the FM chip
  • the possibility to use Inphonik’s freeware companion app RYMCast, a videogame music player program that allows FM patch extraction by a drag’n’drop action from RYMCast to RYM2612.

Pricing and Availability:
25€ until end of September with promocode INTRO2612 (Regular price: 49€)
