Universal Audio launched the Apollo X series last week, and a couple of days ago held a launch event at Air Studios in Hampstead London. It was a great event with Universal Audio bringing in the band 2 Door Cinema Club - together with producer Jacknife Lee, orchestrator Davide Rossi and the London Metropolitan Orchestra to create a the flow of a project through from preproduction/writing to band tracking - they were recorded through real-time plug-ins directly into Logic with Apollo x8p interfaces, through to the recording of the orchestra (54 channels) into Apollo x16 interfaces directly from the Neve Desk into an iMac Pro running at 32 samples!
In the first video, we cover the experience itself, but we also got to sit down with product manager Gannon Kashiwa and talk details. The new Apollos have had a lot of new technology put into them to enable higher specifications all round. We got the background and details on this from Gannon.
