Spitfire Studio Strings - First of New Orchestra Range

Spitfire Audio have just released their new Spitfire Studio Strings- the first in a new Spitfire Orchestra Range (Brass and Woodwind coming soon). The strings were recorded at Air Studios Dry Stage (Studio One)  for a more flexible and detailed sound - which of course you can process into larger spaces yourself.

Spitfire worked with Grammy winning engineer Simon Rhodes and comes in two versions.

Studio Strings:

  • Features a standard (8, 6, 6, 6, 4) player setup, with access to the classic Tree microphone position. 
  • Main String Section (8,6,6,6,4)
  • 148 Articulations (playing styles long, short pizzicato etc)
  • Up to 3 dynamic layers and 2 round robins (longs)
  • Up to 4-8 dynamics (shorts)

Studio Strings Professional

  • Two Divisi Sections (4.3.3.3) We have also included divisi or half sections for the first time to give a new level of modular control
  • Large band (16.12.12.12.4) Consisting of the Main Section and the two Divisi Sections
  • 232 articulations (playing styles long, short pizzicato etc)
  • Up to 3 dynamic layers and 2 round robins per section on longs
  • 6 Mic Positions
  • 2 Stereo Mixes
