When I were a lad all records ended with a fade, nowadays not so much.

The fadeout has had an interesting journey throughout the history of recorded music. A random Youtube surfing session just brought this episode of Earworm (S1 E3) Titled: Why more pop songs should end with a fade out -  made by the brilliant music documentary maker Estelle Caswell for the Vox channel.
