PreSonus has released a new drum library - Tom Brechtlein Library, Volume One. This is the story in their own words…

Tom Brechtlein is a master of many grooves whose passionate drumming has earned him an enviable reputation performing with such greats as Chick Corea, Wayne Shorter, Jean Luc Ponty, Al Di Meola, and Robben Ford. Brechtlein brings his famed intensity to the new PreSonus® Tom Brechtlein Drum Library, Volume 1, delivering brutal rock, sludgy blues, uptempo Latin, Louisiana-worthy funk, and tasty fusion grooves that will quickly make this library your secret weapon for just about any track. The beats and grooves include several of Brechtlein’s innovated, signature techniques, all performed on a Yamaha Maple Custom Absolute six-piece drum kit.

Recorded in PreSonus’ River City Studio, this sample library takes advantage of the beautiful acoustics of a room designed from the ground up by renowned architect and acoustician John Storyk of the Walters-Storyk Design Group. The library was tracked and mixed with PreSonus' Studio One® DAW and recorded at 24-bit, 96 kHz, ensuring that every nuance was faithfully captured.

The library is offered in a Stereo version, featuring stereo loops and samples recorded at 44.1 kHz, and in a Complete HD version with stereo and multitrack loops and samples, recorded at 96 kHz. The samples include one-shots of each drum and cymbal at several velocities, using several performance techniques. They’re also available as a soundset for PreSonus’ Impact virtual drum instrument for Studio One.

The loops include beats, grooves, and fills at different tempos and from multiple genres, including rock, fusion, blues, Latin, and funk. You also get PreSonus’ Double Drum Kit loops, allowing you to combine two drum kits at once, which can be mixed and matched for endless combinations. With the Complete HD version’s multitrack loops, you can easily drag in each stem and mix it just as you would a real kit. Multitrack files can also be a great way to add interesting rhythmic elements to your production without adding an entire kit.

Most libraries cut out the sustain of the drums or cymbals in intros, fills, and outros, so it’s hard to make these parts blend naturally into the main groove loop. In contrast, with the Tom Brechtlein Drum Library, intros and fills flow naturally into the groove, so that the cymbals carry over and sound more nuanced and natural. Outros that don't start on the downbeat are often tied into their groove, as well, making it easier to place them in the timeline. Countoffs have also been left in many of the intros to allow greater flexibility in creating pickup beats without hours of frustration trying to properly place them on the right beat.

Pricing and Availability:
The PreSonus Tom Brechtlein Library, Volume One, is available immediately at anticipated street prices of $29.95 for the Stereo version and $49.95 for the Complete HD version.
