Strymon Magneto Modular Experiments From Nigel Mullaney

US Performances recorded live      12/06/18

If you caught any of our Cymru Beats sets from last year featuring Ian Boddy and Nigel Mullaney, you'll know just how skilled Nigel is as working with synthesizers.

He contacted us to let us know that he's been asked a lot about Tepe Delay emulations and so thought he'd do a set of instrumental pieces with the Strymon Magento (which is indeed a tape delay emulation)

So here they are, all recorded directly into his 2 track recoder - no computer involved.

A live improvisation I recently performed using the new Strymon Magneto Eurorack Tape Echo and looper. Voicing duties were from the Makenoise DPO & Telharmonic. Microtonal scaling was programmed with the Renee and CV modulation of the fundamental. The Strymon was utilised in the end stage of the mix for both delay and the stunning spring reverb emulation.

My second live improvisation patched and performed utilising the Strymon Magneto Eurorack Tape Echo and looper. Voicing duties were from the Makenoise DPO & Telharmonic. Textures were birthed from the Morphagene and the Expert Sleepers Disting MK4. Modulation duties came from the Maths and Pressure Points. The Strymon was utilised in the end stage of the mix for both delay and the lush spring reverb emulation.

For the full set of pieces, check out Nigel's Youtube channel.
