Townsend Labs has announced the immediate availability of version 1.2 of the Sphere plug-in, the software component of the Sphere L22 modeling microphone system. The update—which is included for all existing and new Sphere L22 owners—adds nine new microphone models. This brings the total number of included models to over 20. The update is both for native and UAD-2 versions of the plug-in.

A spokesperson told us, “New additions are four versions of the classic 414, a Korby modded 87, a new old stock 67, two different sounding 77DX ribbon mics and one of the most popular vocal mics—the dynamic 7A, famously used by Michael Jackson and James Hetfield.”
