Tom Carpenter has been into synthesizers since he was a teen, his early instruments were digital, but he inevitably got the bug, starting out like so many manufacturers, by modifying gear.

This soon led to him designing his own instruments, and now Analogue Solutions are highly regarded as instrument makers - from the larger more ambitious instruments such as the Telemark, Nyborg, Vostok, Leipzig and Polymath with recent machines becoming smaller and more affordable synths and effects in the SynthBlocks range - Mr Hyde, Treadstone and Dr Strangelove.

We met Tom as Superbooth in Berlin in May and had a chat - Tom tells us about his route. If you haven't already checked out his recent video of the Pet Shop Boys BBC gear re-union, where he recreated the track "Opportunities" by sourcing a couple of Fairlights, DX-1 and Emulator II (and more) to create  the track.
