Modular Synthesizer Exhibition Fair In Florence

See wires, patches and knobs in Italy next weekend - 24th and 25th of March      16/03/18

The Californian modular synthesizer brand Tiptop Audio and Lattex Plus, landmark event organisation in Florence since 2010, have announced the second edition of MEFF at the Impact Hub and BUH! Circolo Culturale Urbano.

MEFF is a modular synthesizer exhibition/fair involving many international and Italian brands in two days – 24th and 25th of March – guided by wires, patches and knobs.

The initiative engages a number of producers and suppliers of modular synthesizers along with the most advanced technologies in the field of (electronic) music production. Along with Tiptop Audio you may find centrevillage, hosted recently at Tokyo Festival of Modular (TFOM), the German Tangible Waves, and the Dutch Gynko Synthèse and Error Instruments. Amongst the Italian brands MidiWare will showcase Moog and Arturia products, the craftsmanship of GRP, Euterpe Synthesizers, Frap Tools and Qosmo Modular. We are proud to host also some of the most important Italian sellers and stores as Milk Audio Store and Martin Pas Store. The latter will display some products by the Russian Soma Electronics.
During the fair there will be live performances, which will see exhibitors playing along with some external guests in the ‘Performance Area’.

MEFF second edition sees a big change in the choice of location. Indeed, Tiptop Audio and Lattexplus have chosen Impact Hub to showcase the fair. Impact Hub Florence has a dual spirit, during the day it is a coworking space for hundred of professionals who use workstations and offices and its event rooms are acoustically designed by the sound designer and engineer Donato Masci. At evenings and at weekends, the location becomes BUH!, an urban club with a rich schedule of concerts, book presentations, panels, dinners and DJ sets.

Florence is known as the centre of art, but there is much more. In recent years the Renaissance city was involved in the field of music production with the most innovative music practices in Italy, establishing a real ‘electronic renaissance’. MEFF is part of this cultural landscape and it is the ideal platform for gathering people from the entire music industry in order to broaden everyone’s knowledge on modular synthesis by playing with it.
