A Tasty Pixel today announced the availability of their new SampleBot iOS app - "Record Sounds, Make Songs" being the tagline and it does appear to allow just that, a simple quick way to record samples and loops and sequence them. In the tradition of their excellent Loopy app which for many is used as a pro tool for loop based recordings, with its deceptively simple interface.
Samplebot continues and expands on that simplicity with a grid pad based way os sampling and sequencing. As with Loopy, there's comprehensive MIDI mapping and control options for integration into more pro setups.
A one man coding and design team Michael Tyson is also behind AudioBus for iOS too. He said:
"I've always loved finding ways to make music fun and immediate, to encourage creativity without having to wrestle with complex tools. Samplebot's just good fun to play with. During development I was entertaining our 7-month-old little boy, recording and playing back his squeaky teether toy. I made a little song right there, out of the stuff around us: That's the kind of experience I strive for."
SampleBot is available via the iTunes App store at a 50% discount of $2.99. Samplebot runs on iPhone 5s up, iPad Air up, and iPod Touch 6 up running iOS 10.
Just a simple set up this time.
