Yes you did read that right. VST Plug-ins are coming to Reason. Great news for all who have been wanting this - Propellerhead Software tells us that the forthcoming Reason 9.5 will support VST plug-ins.

They say its their #1 most requested feature and we can believe that, almost everyone at least mentions it at some point and now its going to be a reality. This removes one major hurdle to Reason becoming an even more widely adopted DAW. The unique, rack based workflow suits many people, but as we know jumping to another DAW is a major leap, especially if your investment in plug-ins can not be transported.

Looking at the video, it appears the integration is pretty straightforward.

Owners of Reason 9 or Reason Essentials 9 can join the beta testing today and help Propellerhead finish Reason 9.5.
