This is surely in the category of 'aspirational' rather than affordable... but hey, if you really want to investigate the rarefied world of high-end microphones, this new model from Audio-Technica should be on the list.
The AT5047 is very much a sibling to the existing AT5040, as Alex Lepges explains - the both use the same array of 4 rectangular diaphragms, but while the 5040 has no transformer, and uses a 'mechanically' balanced method of using two capsules as 'plus' and two as 'minus' to achieve a high-output balanced signal, the 5047 has a transformer to tame that rather hot output.
The transformer also slightly changes the characteristic of the sound - so now you have basically two flavours of the same mic.
