MESSE 2017: New Vocal Mic from Earthworks Looks Interesting

Microphones from Earthworks Audio are usually impeccably behaved and very discreet... perhaps the English butlers of the mic world ;-]

So I was a bit surprised to see a rather large shiny silver eye-catching microphone on their stand - turns out it's a prototype of their very new large diaphragm front-address vocal microphone.

Still an impeccable performer, giving a flat response from 30Hz-30kHz with a very well-groomed polar pattern, but in a more vocal friendly dress suit.

Target price is around $2500, so it's not for the faint-hearted (or faint-walleted ;-)  but well worth checking out when it becomes available around AES show time this year.
