DODEKA is a music start-up based in Switzerland, just launched on Kickstarter, that is said to reinvent the way music is written and played, making the acts of composing and playing music at least twenty times easier. The system introduces an alternative music notation together with an innovative keyboard that mirrors the DODEKA notation.

A spokesperson told us, "DODEKA is a musical innovation that reinvents the way music is written and played. It combines an alternative music notation with new musical instruments to make music more accessible to everyone. We believe that everyone has a musical potential, which needs the right music system to be fully reached. And frankly, by being too messy, the current music theory isn't that right.

But, DODEKA is. Simple, clear, and intuitive, our musical innovation is intended to everyone, from beginners to masters. Our aim is not to replace the traditional music system, obviously. We want to provide an alternative to music theory to give everyone the opportunity to play music in a simple and intuitive manner. For that, we are currently setting up a comprehensive and convenient musical offer. We plan to offer quality musical instruments, a learning guide, a wide selection of sheet music, and an App to access digital sheet music and get a first playing experience."
