Based in Edinburgh, Scotland,  MacBeth Studio Systems is a one-man operation - its often the case that a single ,un-compromising vision is what drives the creation of special things. Ken MacBeth we would say is such a person. His small run, high quality synthesizers are highly respected. He is a stickler for quality parts and ergonomic front panel layouts.

He started out with a desire to create the instruments that inspired him as a youth and has continued to follow his instincts ever since he began to make synthesizers.

We caught up with Ken at the Superbooth in Berlin, a suitably eccentric venue, to talk about the things that he makes, and why he makes them.
